Isidoro Ramos
Performer and Educator
Isidoro Ramos is a versatile trumpeter, educator, and student based in the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. Known primarily for his work as a commercial and lead trumpet player, he is fluent in a wide range of musical styles and settings. Whether performing lead trumpet in a big band, soloing in a jazz combo, or performing classical trumpet in a concert or solo setting.
He is currently pursuing a degree in Jazz Studies at the University of North Texas, where he holds the prestigious position of Lead Trumpet in the Grammy-nominated One O’clock Lab Band, under the direction of Alan Baylock. Additionally, he performs as the solo trumpet chair in the Latin Jazz Lab Band led by Jose Aponte.
Before relocating to North Texas, Isidoro served as a trumpet player with the United States Army Regional Band.
During his military career, he was deployed to Afghanistan, where he served as a Command Bugler support of Operation Resolute Support.
Isidoro has had the privilege of collaborating with a wide array of renowned artists and ensembles, including David Sanchez, Bradford Leali, Rob Parton, Lyle Lovett, Billy Childs, Rufus Reid, Philip Dizack, Steve Davis, Ken Ebo, Rich DeRosa, Alan Baylock, the El Paso Symphony Orchestra, Shelley Carrol, Quincy Davis, Allison Miller, Marvin Stamm, Mike Steinel, Tony Baker, Jose Aponte, Matt Wilson, Jeff Lederer, Dawn Clement, and Tia Fuller.
His musical development has been shaped by an outstanding roster of teachers and mentors, including Brian Moreno, Caleb Hudson, Paul Stephens, Rob Parton, Philip Dizack, Roddney Booth, Jose Aponte, John Holt, Ken Ebo, and Alan Baylock.
